background

The problem is well known in horse keeping. When bedding and feeding with hay, considerable health concerns arise due to the dust that is stirred up. In addition to the animals, humans are also affected by the dust pollution. Problematically, the dust particles also act as carriers for microorganisms, fungal toxins (mycotoxins), aerobic mesophilic germs, yeasts and moulds.

Innovation / Solution

With the device according to the invention, a reduction of airborne dust particles is achieved at a reasonable cost. Hay or straw is loosened by means of a spiked roller and sprayed with a dust binder in the same operation. The liquid dust binder is used in such small doses and finely distributed that the bedding material itself will not be moistened. The loosened and dedusted material can be collected at the output of the device with a wheelbarrow or a feed wagon.

Benefits

Particularly positive effects not only for horses with chronic respiratory problems and allergies Improved working conditions Less physical effort for loosening and reduced bedding consumption as a side effect

fields of application

Stable equipment, riding facilities, horse and livestock keeping
