Patent Funding Programme WIPANO
Through the new funding programme “WIPANO – Knowledge and Technology Transfer through Patents and Standards”, successor to the SIGNO programme, universities receive grants for knowledge and technology transfer through patents and standards.
In line with the funding priority “Public Research – Funding of Exploitation”, the WIPANO programme supports universities in securing their results from research and development by means of industrial property rights. Like the previous programme SIGNO, the new programme aims to provide financial support for the registration and utilisation of industrial property rights (patents and utility models).
What is the procedure at WIPANO?
Patenting is supported in the context of several service packages, which EZN provides for you in a qualified and competent manner. Only service package 4 requires the appointment of a patent agent:
LP 1 Detailed examination as to novelty
LP 2 Testing for economic usability
LP 3 Strategy consulting and support in patenting
LP 4 Property right application (official fees and patent attorney fees)
LP 5 Marketing activities (e.g. prototyping, exhibitions, marketing)
Who is eligible for funding at WIPANO?
Eligible for application are SMEs in the commercial sector and in the liberal scientific/technical professions that have not filed a patent or utility model application in the three years preceding the application. The funding quota amounts to up to 50 percent of the eligible expenditure, with a maximum of up to 16.600,00 € in funding available.
